A video showing how the catholic bishop of Uyo Diocese, John Ebebe Ayah rejected a N25 million gift from the Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, during a church service has emerged online. The bishop asked the governor to use the money to pay civil servants who the state is owing.
The video showed that the governor made the donation during the church service and was cheered by congregants, but when the bishop rejected the money and asked the governor to use the money to pay civil servants owed their salaries, the congregants cheered more.
The incident took place during a thanksgiving mass held on Sunday in Calabar.
