Hours after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) declared Ismaila Mustapha, popularly known as Mompha, wanted on Wednesday, Nigerians have reacted to the declaration, with some describing it as a waste of time.

In a post on its Twitter account, EFCC said Mr Mustapha needs to answer to allegations bordering on “retention of proceeds of criminal conduct, possession of document containing false pretences, false asset declaration and laundering of proceeds of unlawful conduct.”
The commission asked anybody with “useful information as to his whereabouts should please contact the Commission in its Benin, Kaduna, Ibadan, Sokoto, Gombe, Maiduguri, Makurdi, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, Gombe, Port Harcourt and Abuja offices or the nearest Police Station and other security agencies.”

The minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola said he opted not to seek any political position in 2023 because he believes at his age, politicians should quit for younger elements to blossom, according to a Peoples Gazette report.
“We are talking about young people, is it not time for us to leave the space? The former two-term Lagos governor enthused in an interview with Punch. “I came in at 39, I’m going at 60, let some 30-year olds too come and start their journey. It’s time to go.”
