Implosion in the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) seems to be more imminent as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State on Monday hosted Mr Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State who is a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sanwa-Olu was in the state to commission a flyover built by the Wike administration.
Sharing pictures of the event on his Twitter account, the Lagos State Governor commended Wike for the “physical development” in Rivers State.
“I commissioned the Orochiri-Worukwo flyover in Port Harcourt today as the guest of HE @GovWike, he tweeted.
“This bridge is part of the infrastructural investment in the urban renewal of the Garden City and I must commend Governor Wike for investments in the physical upgrade of the state capital and other critical infrastructural developments across the state.

“Orochiri-Worukwo Bridge constructed by the Wike-led administration will ease the movement of commuters within Port Harcourt and environs and improve the productivity of the people,” he said.
This came as a shock to many given that Wike would, before the PDP 2023 presidential election primaries, invite Atiku Abubarkar, the party 2023 presidential election flagbearer or any PDP governor, not an APC governor, for such an event.
This came a few days after he reportedly met with Mr Atiku. There have been rumours of Wike’s decamp to the APC, a move many experts say will affect the PDP badly, because of his influence within and outside of the party.
