Owing to the continuously rising Dollar the founder and general overseer of Omega Power Ministries, Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has said the church will stop funding new oversea scholarship schemes for Nigerians. He said he would rather open a university to called OPM free university in Nigeria.
Pastor Chibuzor made this known in a post on his verified Facebook account on Monday.
According to him, consultation for the new university has already started and it will be totally free for students.

“I Am left with no other option. I just finished meeting with a professor and I have instructed the OPM international metron that from January 2023, no more new intakes for OPM overseas scholarships because of the ever-growing dollar rates. So all those who we just paid their school fees last week for Cyprus that will be travelling this month of August and those for Germany that will be travelling in September are the last new intakes for overseas scholarships.
“While others that are already in different universities around the world, we shall continue to pay your school fees and accommodations only till you graduate. You have to look for small jobs for your feeding and clothes,” pastor Chibuzor said.
He further explained: “I have already given the professor with funds to travel to Abuja, Nigeria, for the registration and approval of the first free university in Nigeria to be called
OPM free university. Like our 20 free schools, two free world-class free hospitals, one multi-skill acquisition centre, 18 free estates etc, this free university shall be run 100 per cent free of charge and it will be open to both Muslims and Christians from other churches.
“Serious OPM members, not visiting members shall have 90 per cent slot, while 10 per cent shall be shared for Muslims and other denominations. The professor has also promised to bring in some foreign professors that will train some of our Nigerian lecturers free of charge on how to teach with technology, not blackboards. I am so excited for this my dream to come true.

“Just like the world-class well-equipped specialist hospital which started 8 years ago, every week through the head of welfare, Mrs Morine, we spend millions on people’s hospital bills. Then one day I woke up and said enough is enough we must build our own hospital and God made it possible. I will also speak to those American universities that gave me honorary doctorate decrees if they can affiliate with OPM Free University even if it means paying them monthly. So that OPM free university can be high standard. God, I return all glory back to you,” he said.
